Buyers Information
Buying a house...Where do you start, right? Well first you need to
find out is what type of buyer you are.
Buyer Type #1 - The Researcher:
A researcher is the type of buyer who will surf the web, scan
through newspapers and magazines, and drive around neighborhoods
until they find something they like. All without the help of anybody
else. When you find the house you like you'll probably end up
calling the agent on the sign to get inside. You've just made the
1st mistake...You called the owner's agent to represent you! Would
you want a lawyer representing you and the other guy in a lawsuit?
Of course not. So why call the sellers agent? Most likely because
you just don't know. Call a buyer's agent, they work for you for
free because the seller almost always pays the commission, in Texas.
Buyer Type #2 - The Executive:
This buyer is the exact opposite of The Researcher. The Executive
tells you want they want and demands only to see the houses that
only have the specific features they requested. This type of buyer
knows what he wants, which makes it easier to find a house,
but can also take longer to find the perfect one.
Buyer Type # 3 - The Pro:
This buyer has the best aspects of The Researcher and The Executive.
She knows what she wants from doing some of her own research, but
also looks at alternate suggestions by the expert buyer's agent. She
expects fiduciary representation from her agent and listens to his
recommendations and expert advice.
I've worked with all 3 of these types and understand your thought
process. So when you call to make an appointment with me, you may
want to mention what type of buyer you are so we can get a jump
start.
